About
We promote quality science and engineering education by providing affordable services to students, parents, and teachers, supplementing and enhancing existing curricula and programs.
We offer science fairs and labs that give younger children the experience — and delight — of making things happen first-hand. Our science classes give older students experience with rigorous experiments that prepare them to succeed in further studies.

Robert Styer, PhD
Robert Styer is a professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Villanova University for over 40 years. As an undergraduate, he double-majored in mathematics and physics; he mostly teaches standard math courses but has taught some physics and computer science courses at Villanova. Most importantly, he is the father of eight children, all of whom have participated in GPHSF. His oldest daughter won at the regional fair and presented at ISEF twice. Dr. Styer has helped judge in numerous science fairs in the area.
Suzanne Shera

Suzanne Shera has degrees in Physics (U.C. Irvine) and M.S. in Optical Engineering (Tufts University). She worked as a research assistant at M.I.T. Lincoln Labs and Radiation Monitoring Devices for 9 years. After the birth of her first child, she switched to Part time teaching.
She homeschooled her two children for the most part, and continued to run science classes at her home as well as various Homeschool Co-ops. She substituted at Delaware County Christian school and conducted STEM weeks in Astronomy. She participated in the Greater Philadelphia Homeschool Science Fair as a judge where her children competed various times.
Suzanne also authored three articles for CHAP (Christian Homeschool Association of PA) magazine, two educational books Lightlab (2017) and the Light Module (for Christian Service Brigades (2025). Kelly Wong

Kelly Wong taught art classes and homeschooled her 5 children for 16 years. For the last 5 years, she has been teaching full time at St. Mark’s Classical Academy where she gets to continue her passion for hands-on projects integrating art, history, literature, and geography.
Kelly chose to study Architecture at Penn State University because she loved both art and math as a child and couldn't decide between them. Now she uses her design skills as the Costume Designer for various theater groups and to construct every crazy costume her children can think up. She married an architect so they can continue their design critiques everywhere they go together.
What Kelly loves most about the science fair is giving homeschooling families a chance to grow in confidence in the scientific process and connecting them to other homeschoolers who are on the same journey.
